Triton 2024 workshop on Scientific Opportunities with Triton Beams, Tallahassee, Florida 3/14-3/15

FSU has developed a triton-beam capability at the John D. Fox laboratory as part of CENTAUR, funded by NNSA. The dedicated ion source has been commissioned with stable beams and triton-commissioning is imminent. We hope to perform scientific experiments beginning Summer 2024. In order to initiate collaborations around this unique scientific opportunity, we are organizing the “Triton2024” workshop in the FSU Physics Department in Tallahassee, Florida, on March 14 and March 15, 2024. A website with the registration and lodging information is available here. The program and other information will be added soon. If you would like to present at the workshop, please submit an abstract to I. Wiedenhoever (iwiedenhoever@fsu.edu).

Workshop topics include use of (t,p) reactions as pairing probes, as surrogate reactions and as a general tool to perform spectroscopy on neutron-rich nuclei as well as other applications of accelerated triton beams. We will encourage to form collaborations around experiments and instruments during the workshop in preparation for the experimental campaigns.
